How much does this service cost?

Most of our undefended divorce matters are conducted on fixed fee basis our fixed fees start from £1000 plus VAT

However, to give you enough flexibility and if you prefer to pay for our services on hourly rates basis, we will give you the choice to do so. During the initial free consultation, we will discuss all possible options for you.

Our hourly rates are as follows:

Principal Solicitor /Senior Solicitor £250.00 per hour plus VAT
Solicitor £200.00 per hour plus VAT
Trainee Solicitor £150.00 per hour plus VAT
Paralegal £125.00 per hour plus VAT

As part of our service we will:

  • Provide you with a dedicated and experienced divorce solicitor to work on your matter
  • Obtain your instructions
  • Advise you on the matter
  • Enter pre-action stage correspondence with the Respondent
  • Draft the divorce petition
  • Issue the Court proceedings for divorce
  • Apply for Decree Nisi
  • Apply for Decree Absolute

On average, undefended divorces are dealt with within 5-6 months. Typically, obtaining the Decree Nisi takes around 3-4 months and the Decree Absolute with 7-8 weeks after the Decree Nisi pronouncement.

Disbursements:

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process. Currently Divorce Court fee is £550.

In some cases, we need to seek third parties’ services to serve the petition such as Process Servers or bailiffs – their fees start from £75 plus VAT (if necessary).

As part of our service we will:

  • Obtain your instructions and advise you on the matter
  • File the defence on your behalf
  • File the answer to the divorce petition on your behalf
  • Represent you at the hearing (additional barrister’s fee which will be confirmed closer to the day of the hearing)

On average, defended divorces are dealt with within 5-6 months. Typically, obtaining the Decree Nisi takes around 3-4 months and the Decree Absolute takes further 7-8 weeks after the Decree Nisi pronouncement.

Barristers Fees – We instruct barristers in the majority of our cases involving contested family matters and children proceedings. The professional fees for Counsel’s advice and representation at the Court hearings will heavily depend on your individual matter and these cannot be estimated without further information regarding your case. Upon instructions we will do our best to provide you with number of barristers’ profiles and their quotations so that you can make the right choice.
